The Refuge Pavilion is a gorgeous and modern structure located at Piedmont Farm Animal Refuge, a non-profit sanctuary for farm animals who are rescued from abuse, neglect and abandonment.
Booking the Pavilion includes the option of a guided tour to meet the animal residents as part of your special event.
The Pavilion itself is 1500 sq. ft. of open-air space including a large fireplace, festive string lights, woodland boardwalk, sizable storage room, and forest parking. It can accommodate around 100 seated guests, with green space for additional seating directly adjacent. This multi-purpose structure is perfect for weddings, parties, film screenings, yoga classes, theater events, concerts, and more!

WEDDING PRICES INCLUDE:
12 hour day-of rental (11am -11pm or earlier)
Covered seating for 100 guests, plus a green space for additional seating directly adjacent
15 60-in round tables (can seat 8 people each)
120 folding chairs
Logs and kindling for use in outdoor fireplace
Use of space for a 1 hour ceremony rehearsal 1-2 days prior to event
Celebratory string lights hung in Pavilion and along boardwalk
On-site parking for all guests including ADA van accessible parking space and accessible ramps
Scheduled walkthroughs with family, friends and vendors
ADDITIONAL SERVICES OFFERED:
Set-up and break-down of tables and chairs ($300)
Guided tour to meet rescued farm animals ($10 per person, available tour times vary dependent on date)
YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Rental of tablecloths, dish-ware and other desired items
Rental cost of porta-johns (you pick quantity, style and size)
If you choose to serve alcohol, hiring a licensed and insured bartender
Purchasing event insurance

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Pavilion wheelchair accessible?
Yes! Our parking lot includes a designed ADA van accessible parking space, and ramps allow access onto our boardwalk and Pavilion. However if you choose to book a visit with the animals, our tours take place on gravel roads, grass pasture, and other terrains, all of which may not be completely wheelchair friendly. If you have accessibility needs, please email us at info@piedmontrefuge.org to make arrangements.
What are the policies around payments and cancellations?
A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to hold your date. The remaining 50% is due 60 days before your event. All payments are final. If you decide to move your date, you may do so based on availability for no extra charge.
Are companion animals allowed on site?
Unfortunately for the safety of our animal residents, companion animals of any kind are not permitted on the grounds. We also do not allow companion animals to be left in vehicles.
Can I use a vendor not listed on the approved list?
All of our approved vendors offer 100% vegan food options only. If you have another vegan food caterer in mind, please contact us to discuss this.
What are the closest accommodations?
There are several hotels located in Chapel Hill, just 25 minutes away. There are also two bed and breakfast options located in downtown Pittsboro.
